Meet the Principal

Welcome to Patterson International! My name is Matt Lunger I am honored to serve as the new Principal of Patterson and excited to join an amazing school community.

This is my 15th year in Public Education, having served as a teacher, Dean of Students, and Assistant Principal in both Jeffco Public Schools and Denver Public Schools. Most recently, I was the Assistant Principal at Prospect Valley Elementary School, where I worked alongside students, staff, and families to create positive learning environments that support both academic achievement and student well-being. I earned my bachelor's degree from Florida State University and a master's in educational leadership from the University of Northern Colorado. I live in the Green Mountain area with my son, Harrison.  

At the heart of my leadership philosophy is a simple belief: every student can learn, grow, and achieve at high levels when provided with the right opportunities, support, and encouragement. I am passionate about building strong relationships, fostering a culture of belonging, and ensuring that all students feel valued, challenged, and empowered to reach their full potential. I look forward to partnering with our students, families, staff, and community as we continue to build on Patterson's rich tradition of excellence. Together, we will create a school where every child feels seen, supported, and inspired to succeed.
